Built Like A Home Because It Is One

TINY HOMES FOR THE UNSHELTERED AND EMERGENCIES

Built like a house, stacks flat to go anywhere, and fits together in minutes.

Let’s solve the trauma of being without a home.

QuickHaven Transitional Shelters

A DESTINATION

The QuickHaven Transitional Shelter offers comfort when and where it is needed. Our tiny homes for those experiencing homelessness are built with metal framing, locking doors, operable windows, and standard residential insulation.  QuickHaven™ is a safe refuge.

The San Francisco Bay Area has the opportunity to lead the country in developing safe and easy-to-assemble interim shelter to address the growing humanitarian and public health crisis of encampments. If a shelter product like QuickHaven could be inexpensively produced and be made code compliant, we’d finally have an essential piece of the puzzle solved
— Amy Farah Weiss, Founder/Director of Saint Francis Homelessness Challenge

THREE ABLE-BODIED PEOPLE

Three people can put together QuickHaven™ in less than an hour, using a simple hand tool and a few ladders. No electricity or machines are required. Made of durable materials that are pest and rot resistant for years of use.

“I'm tremendously excited about QuickHaven Transitional Shelters. I've developed and operated housing with support services for homeless adults for over 25 years. Clusters of QuickHaven Shelters are ideal for quickly creating small-scale communities to help people by the dozen come off the street. Wrap-around supportive services then help stabilize small communities and prevent recurring homelessness among newly sheltered residents. This initiative deserves support and encouragement; we need transitional shelters urgently. We may never eliminate homelessness, but we can end it for one person, one shelter at a time.”

— Richard Heasley, Executive Director, Conard House Inc, San Francisco

THE VILLAGE

The QuickHaven shelter is intended to be installed in sufficient numbers to form a village community. Each shelter is designed to receive power from overhead wiring for lighting, heat, small appliances and air-conditioning if necessary. Program Service partners will provide shared laundry, showers, toilet, waste removal, security, health, counseling and other support facilities and services in conjunction with local, county and state government agencies. Meals can be provided by other partners. QuickHaven is continuously broadening our partnership with program providers versed in these programs. This supportive village concept has proven successful as a gateway on the path to recovery from disaster, homelessness and unemployment. QuickHaven also aspires to train and employ village residents in the manufacturing of the our shelters.
